At Equalify, we’re excited to announce our first partnership with one of the most respected figures in accessibility: Raghavendra Satish Peri, founder of DigitalA11Y. His story is a testament to resilience, innovation, and a deep passion for making the web accessible to all.
Raghavendra’s journey began in 2006, when, as a web designer with low vision, he faced the harsh reality of job discrimination. Instead of backing down, he built his own business from the ground up. A defining moment came when a client asked, “Is this website accessible?” It was a question that Raghavendra had never considered before. But with an insatiable curiosity, he dove headfirst into the world of accessibility. He spent countless hours studying digital inclusion and built a website that not only worked but transcended physical limitations.
This moment was the spark that ignited his passion for accessibility. Years later, at IBM, Raghavendra led an accessibility Center of Excellence, helping Fortune 500 companies and global clients embrace inclusivity. But his mission was bigger. He wanted to build a community and a platform where accessibility wasn’t just a checkbox but a core element of every digital experience.
That vision led to the creation of DigitalA11Y. What started as a blog where Raghavendra shared his knowledge has grown into a full-scale consultancy, transforming websites into inclusive spaces that empower millions. Today, DigitalA11Y is a bridge between businesses and a more accessible digital landscape.
Raghavendra’s story isn’t just about overcoming obstacles—it’s about rewriting the rules of what’s possible. And at Equalify, we are honored to collaborate with someone whose mission so closely aligns with ours.
